Hermes Airports participated in Cyprus Tourism Organisation’s ‘Thank You’ event which was organised as a thank you to all the airlines and Tour Operators. Hermes Airports’ Senior Manager Aviation Development, Marketing & Communications Ms. Maria Kouroupi was amongst the main speakers and presented on the airport and connectivity as well as the opportunities arising from the collaboration with the trade.

Ground Handling

average of 32,000 passengers per day (41K/summer, 18K/winter). Passenger traffic in 2023 had an increase of 3% compared to 2019, marking the best performance ever recorded at Cyprus Airports.
Specifically, 8.1 million passengers travelled from and to #LarnakaAirport marking an increase of 34% compared to 2022, with average load factor of 81%. From and to Pafos Airport, 3.6 million passengers traveled, recording an increase of 12% compared to 2022, with average load factor of 89%. A key contribution was made by the incentive scheme for airlines, which we have been implementing for the past 10 years, in which Hermes Airports has invested over 120 million euro, while we focused on targeted digital marketing campaigns for further promotion of Cyprus.
An even ... more significant achievement for 2023, and an opportunity for 2024, is considered the increase in the winter schedule of the airlines, contributing to establishing Cyprus as a year-round destination while offering a variety of choices for passengers. The Routes Awards take place annually in different cities of the world, that host this unique event, as the voting and decision process for the nominations is completely up to the airlines – judges, who evaluate the strategy and various initiatives that an airport develops to improve connectivity and communication with the aviation industry. This summer, 55 airlines are expected to be operating flights to/from Larnaka and Pafos airports. This year's schedule confirms the confidence in Cyprus as a destination since there is a significant recovery in existing and new markets. The efforts made in the past years, to differentiate by expanding to other markets besides the two main ones have paid off.

The first quarter of the year also marked the official start of the tourist season, as passenger traffic reached 2,491,447 passengers.
