The recommencement of the Israeli airline's routes to and from Cyprus comes to reinforce the efforts to develop the network of Larnaka International Airport and further enrich the options of the traveling public . EL-AL's Larnaka - Tel Aviv route will operate twice a week, every Wednesday and Saturday. For its Cyprus - Israel route, EL AL will use the latest type of aircraft Boeing 737-900.
An event marking the occasion of the one-year presence of the Ukrainian SkyUp Airlines in Cyprus took place at Larnaka Airport. The event was attended by media representatives as well as tourism and aviation stakeholders who had the opportunity to learn about the future plans of the airline as well as discuss with its executives.

Austrian Airlines takes top places at world airline awards
Hermes Airports is delighted to welcome the launch of SWISS flights from Geneva to Cyprus. Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), which is part of the Lufthansa Group, will connect Larnaka with Geneva, Switzerland. The route was inaugurated on July 3, 2019 and will be operated on a weekly basis every Wednesday; Additionally, during September and October, the route will operate every Saturday. The launch of SWISS’ flights to Cyprus is expected to contribute to the efforts to strengthen the connectivity between Cyprus and Switzerland; it is estimated that the airline will transport approximately 4,000 passengers to and from Cyprus during the Summer season. The inaugural flight which landed at Larnaka Airport was received with a water arch salutation, customary for inaugural flights, whilst a welcoming event was organised for the arriving passengers of the flight.

SkyUp Airlines LLC was founded in June 2017 and started operating in May 2018. Since March 2019, SkyUp has begun direct flights between Larnaka and Kiev with two weekly flights Kiev - Larnaka - Kiev, while it also added two weekly flights to/from Kharkiv. Within only a year, SkyUp has transported more ... than 50,000 passengers in a total of 316 flights to and from Larnaka Airport. SkyUp Airlines have announced the addition of more flights and new destinations in the summer of 2020. Flights to / from Kiev will increase to five per week, while the airline will fly twice to/from Kharkiv and Odessa and once to/from Zaporizhia every week. “Ukrainian low-cost SkyUp Airlines began operating less than two years ago, and Larnaka was one of the first international destinations to be added to our flight ... cooperation, we will continue to develop the region’s tourism sector.” commented Yevhen Khaynatsky, CEO of SkyUp Airlines.
